Movie merch, but make it fashion. Only director Sofia Coppola can straddle the great divide between trendy fan fodder and handcrafted jewelry. And she’s done it yet again with the coveted locket choker from Coppola’s A24 film “Priscilla,” now available for purchase.

First Coppola teamed up with Marc Jacobs, then she released her Uniqlo capsule collection, following this was the stunning “Sofia Coppola Archive” tome and now the director is giving her fans exactly what they want retro jewelry loaded with double meanings. Worn by actress Cailee Spaeny as she portrayed Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, Elvis Presley’s first (and only) wife, the “Priscilla” locket has been recreated for the emotional girlie masses. Designed by the iconic jewelry designer J. Hannah the locket melds the timeless with the tragic due to the secret behind this signature look.

In her 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me,” which was the sole inspiration behind Coppola’s film, Priscilla revealed that she discovered the origin of her biological father after stumbling across a hidden family photo.

“On the back of the photo was inscribed ‘Mommy, Daddy, Priscilla’ I had discovered a family secret,” Presley wrote. “Within minutes I was in her arms, crying as she calmed me and explained that when I was six months old, my real father. Lieutenant James Wagner, a handsome Navy pilot, had been killed in a plane crash while returning home on leave. Two and a half years later, she married Paul Beaulieu, who adopted me and had always loved me as his own…. [My mother] gave me a gold locket that my father had given her,” Presley wrote. “I cherished that locket and wore it for years and fantasized that my father died a great hero. In times of emotional pain and loneliness he would become my guardian angel.”

The official “Priscilla” locket is available in 14K white gold or yellow gold for $1,280.00 there’s a small opening inside the pendent to display a photo or “petite talisman of your choosing,” according to the designer. The back of each locket is detailed with a commemorative “Priscilla” script and ‘JH’ logo engraving with an option to engrave a personalized inscription on the front.
