Beyonce and Amazon Music will hold an event called “Club Renaissance” this weekend in Los Angeles, apparently a celebration of the singer’s six-month-old latest album.Details were scarce at the time of this article’s publication, although the fine print says Beyonce’s company, Parkwood, “invites you to experience ‘Renaissance’ in spatial audio,” so it seems at the very least it’s a high-fidelity listening session.https://twitter.com/amazonmusic/status/1603485336306425856On Friday afternoon Fans received alerts for a website called “Club Renaissance,” but tickets were apparently gone within minutes....
Beyoncé
Sneak attacks have been Beyoncé’s mode of release since 2013, when her self-titled set suddenly appeared on the iTunes store. The unexpected element for “Lemonade” in 2016 was the concept of a video album embellished by a concurrent HBO special, while this year her “Renaissance” began making waves with the contagious lead track, “Break My Soul.” When the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August, it was the first 2022 release by a female to top the chart, leading with 332,000 album project units (album sales plus equivalent value of song sales and streams), the second-largest week by anyone until that point in the year. Upon the album’s launch, all 16 of its songs reached the Billboard Hot 100, with “Break” debuting at No. 1. Beyoncé is also the most nominated artist at the 2023 Grammys, up for nine awards, including album of the year.
